My Involvement:

I came up with the idea for Boston BookWorks during the summer after Freshmen year.  By this time I had become frustrated with the high prices for textbooks and so I was in pursuit for a cheaper alternative.  While traveling in India, I found the same textbooks I had used for a much lower price.  When I returned to Boston, I imported 25 copies of a textbook for a course I was currently enrolled in.  To my surprise, I was able to sell my entire inventory within 2 days.

Since the inception, I have played a major role in Boston BookWorks.  I put my technology skills to use and set up a fully functional ecommerce store, inventory management system, and order management system.  The inventory management system has the ability to manage inventory on over 10 different sales channels including BostonBookWorks.com, Amazon.com, AbeBooks.com, BarnesAndNobles.com, Ebay and more.  In addition, the system would be able to reprice our inventory based on real time prices of our competitors on Amazon.com.

I also played a major role in finding and managing multiple suppliers in India and Singapore.  This is a challenging task as there are often large communication and culture barriers while working with foreign suppliers.
